EJ Multi-Sports Leagues (EJMSL)

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 20 October 2026

1. About Us

EJ Multi-Sports Leagues (EJMSL) organises recreational sports leagues, tournaments and related sporting activities for adults aged 18 and over.

These Terms and Conditions apply to anyone registering for, entering or participating in an EJMSL league, tournament or other organised activity, unless separate terms are provided for a particular event.

By registering for an activity and completing your entry, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and any additional rules published for the relevant sport, league or tournament.

2. Eligibility and Registration

2.1. Participants must be aged 18 or over unless an event explicitly states otherwise.

2.2. All registration details must be accurate and kept up to date. Participants must provide any information reasonably required to administer their entry.

2.3. Each participant is responsible for reading the relevant league or tournament rules, format, deadlines, fees and any specific entry requirements before registering.

2.4. Registration is subject to acceptance by EJMSL. Where places are limited, entry may be restricted once capacity has been reached.

2.5. Participants must not register on behalf of another person without their permission.

2.6. EJMSL reserves the right to refuse or cancel an entry where there is a reasonable and legitimate ground to do so, including ineligibility, fraudulent registration, non-payment or serious misconduct. Any refund due will be assessed in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

3. Entry Fees and Payments

3.1. Entry fees will be displayed on the relevant website page, registration form or promotional material before payment.

3.2. Participants must pay the applicable fee by the stated deadline. An unpaid or incomplete entry may not be accepted.

3.3. Any additional costs, including venue hire, equipment, travel or court and table fees, will be the participant's responsibility unless the relevant activity expressly states otherwise.

3.4. Participants must not make chargebacks or payment disputes on false or misleading grounds. This does not affect any legitimate rights they have to dispute a payment.

3.5. EJMSL may change prices for future activities. A price change will not retrospectively alter an entry already confirmed and paid for.

4. Withdrawals, Cancellations and Refunds

4.1. Participants should contact EJMSL as soon as possible if they wish to withdraw from a league, tournament or other activity.

4.2. Unless the relevant event's published terms state otherwise, entry fees are generally non-refundable when a participant withdraws voluntarily after their entry has been confirmed, particularly where places, fixtures or event arrangements have already been committed. This is subject to any applicable statutory rights and the requirement that cancellation terms are fair.

4.3. Where an entry is cancelled by EJMSL, a participant is entitled to any refund required by applicable law. Where an activity cannot be delivered as advertised, EJMSL will communicate the available arrangements, which may include rescheduling, an alternative activity or a refund, as appropriate to the circumstances and applicable law.

4.4. Where a participant requests a transfer to another league, season or event, EJMSL may consider the request but cannot guarantee that a transfer will be possible.

4.5. Participants should not assume that missing a match, failing to arrange fixtures or choosing not to participate will entitle them to a refund.

4.6. Cancellation rights may differ depending on the nature of the activity and the date or period for which it is arranged. Nothing in these Terms removes any cancellation or refund rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

5. League Formats and Match Arrangements

5.1. EJMSL will publish or communicate the relevant format, rules, season dates and match arrangements for each league.

5.2. Participants are responsible for contacting opponents, arranging matches and completing fixtures within the deadlines specified for their league, unless EJMSL expressly states that it will arrange matches on their behalf.

5.3. Participants should make reasonable efforts to communicate promptly, offer suitable dates and times, and accommodate opponents where reasonably possible.

5.4. Participants must notify EJMSL of significant difficulties arranging matches as early as possible, providing relevant details where requested.

5.5. If a participant repeatedly fails to respond, arrange matches, attend agreed fixtures or complete matches within the required period, EJMSL may investigate and apply the relevant league rules. Possible outcomes include awarding a match result, recording a walkover, adjusting league standings or removing a participant from the competition, where appropriate under the published rules.

5.6. Participants must follow the relevant sport's rules and any additional competition-specific rules communicated by EJMSL.

5.7. EJMSL may make reasonable adjustments to fixtures, formats, deadlines or competition arrangements where necessary to keep a competition running fairly and effectively. Material changes will be communicated to affected participants where reasonably practicable.

6. Results, Scores and Disputes

6.1. Participants must submit accurate match results through the method specified by EJMSL.

6.2. Participants are responsible for checking that results have been recorded correctly and for raising any errors promptly.

6.3. Where a result is disputed, participants should first try to resolve the issue respectfully with their opponent. If they cannot reach an agreement, they should contact EJMSL and provide relevant evidence or an explanation.

6.4. EJMSL will review disputes in accordance with the applicable league or tournament rules and may request information from the participants involved.

6.5. EJMSL will make a reasonable decision based on the information available. This may include confirming or correcting a result, awarding a match, or taking other action permitted by the relevant rules.

6.6. Any decision-making process will be subject to applicable law. Nothing in this section removes a participant's statutory rights.

7. Player Conduct and Fair Play

7.1. EJMSL aims to provide a friendly, inclusive and enjoyable environment for adults of all abilities.

7.2. All participants must treat opponents, organisers, venue staff and other participants with respect.

7.3. The following conduct is prohibited:

  • Harassment, bullying, discrimination or threatening behaviour.

  • Violence, intimidation or deliberate damage to property.

  • Cheating, deliberate manipulation of results or dishonest reporting.

  • Repeated unreasonable or abusive communication.

  • Conduct that materially disrupts a league, tournament or venue.

  • Breaches of venue rules or reasonable safety instructions.

7.4. Participants must comply with the rules and reasonable instructions of the venue hosting their activity.

7.5. Where a complaint is made, EJMSL may investigate and take proportionate action, which could include a warning, a result adjustment where permitted by the rules, suspension or removal from a league or tournament.

7.6. EJMSL will consider the circumstances and seriousness of the matter before taking action, where reasonably practicable.

8. Health, Safety and Personal Responsibility

8.1. Participation in sport involves inherent risks, including physical exertion, accidental injury and damage to personal belongings.

8.2. Participants are responsible for assessing their own fitness and suitability for the activity and should seek appropriate medical advice if they have concerns about participating safely.

8.3. Participants must follow applicable safety rules, use equipment appropriately and inform the venue or organiser of any immediate safety concerns.

8.4. Participants are responsible for their personal belongings and should take reasonable precautions to keep them secure.

8.5. Participants are responsible for any damage they intentionally or negligently cause to venue property or equipment, subject to applicable law.

8.6. EJMSL is not a medical provider and does not provide individual medical clearance for sporting activities.

8.7. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

9. Venues and Third-Party Providers

9.1. Some EJMSL activities take place at venues operated by third parties.

9.2. Participants must comply with the relevant venue's rules, booking conditions and safety requirements.

9.3. Venue facilities, opening hours, availability and local conditions may change. EJMSL will make reasonable efforts to communicate changes that materially affect an organised activity.

9.4. Where a venue becomes unavailable or an activity is affected by circumstances outside EJMSL's reasonable control, EJMSL may seek an alternative venue, reschedule the activity or make other reasonable arrangements.

9.5. Any refund or other remedy arising from a cancelled or materially changed activity will be handled in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

10. Changes to or Cancellation of Activities

10.1. EJMSL may need to amend or cancel an activity due to circumstances such as venue unavailability, insufficient entries, safety concerns, severe weather or other operational issues.

10.2. Where reasonably practicable, EJMSL will notify affected participants as soon as possible and explain any alternative arrangements.

10.3. Where EJMSL cancels an activity, it will provide any refund or other remedy required by applicable law and the relevant event terms.

10.4. EJMSL is not responsible for indirect expenses such as travel, accommodation or loss of earnings, except where liability arises under applicable law or cannot lawfully be excluded.

10.5. Nothing in this section allows EJMSL to avoid responsibility for its own breach of contract or any other legal obligation.

11. Communications

11.1. EJMSL may contact participants by email, telephone, text message or messaging services such as WhatsApp for legitimate purposes relating to registration, fixtures, results, event arrangements and league administration.

11.2. Participants are responsible for keeping their contact details up to date and checking relevant communications.

11.3. Participants should contact EJMSL promptly if they believe they have missed an important communication or cannot access information about their league.

11.4. Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection and electronic marketing laws. Where consent is required, it will be obtained separately as appropriate, and participants can opt out of marketing communications without affecting essential league administration messages.

12. Privacy and Personal Information

12.1. EJMSL collects and uses personal information needed to administer registrations, payments, fixtures, results, communications and other legitimate league activities.

12.2. Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and EJMSL's Privacy Policy, which should be read alongside these Terms.

12.3. Participants should not share another person's private contact details, personal information or images without an appropriate lawful basis or permission where required.

12.4. Participants can contact EJMSL to ask questions about the handling of their personal information or to exercise their applicable data protection rights.

12.5. These Terms are not a substitute for a separate Privacy Policy.

13. Photography, Video and Publicity

13.1. EJMSL may wish to take photographs or videos at certain tournaments, events or other activities for reporting, promotional or social media purposes.

13.2. Where EJMSL intends to use identifiable images of participants for promotional purposes, it will provide appropriate information and obtain consent where required by law.

13.3. Participants should respect the privacy and preferences of others when taking or sharing photographs or videos.

13.4. Participants who do not wish to appear in promotional photographs or videos should inform EJMSL in advance or at the event. EJMSL will take reasonable steps to respect their wishes.

13.5. Nothing in this section permits the unlawful use of a person's image or personal information.

14. Intellectual Property

14.1. EJMSL's branding, logos, website content, promotional materials and original competition materials are owned by or licensed to EJMSL, unless stated otherwise.

14.2. Participants must not use EJMSL's branding or materials for commercial purposes without prior permission.

14.3. Participants retain any rights they hold in their own original content, subject to any separate agreement they have made with EJMSL.

15. Suspension or Removal from a League

15.1. EJMSL may suspend or remove a participant where there are reasonable grounds, including serious misconduct, repeated breaches of competition rules, fraudulent activity, non-payment or behaviour that creates a material safety concern.

15.2. Where reasonably practicable, EJMSL will explain the reason for the proposed action and allow the participant an opportunity to respond. Immediate temporary action may be necessary where there is a serious or urgent safety concern.

15.3. Any refund following suspension or removal will depend on the circumstances, the applicable event terms and the law. EJMSL will not apply a blanket forfeiture where doing so would be unlawful or unfair.

16. Complaints and Contact

16.1. Participants who have a complaint about an EJMSL league, tournament or service should contact EJMSL directly and provide sufficient information for the matter to be reviewed.

16.2. EJMSL will make reasonable efforts to investigate complaints and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

16.3. For all enquiries, complaints, withdrawals or requests relating to these Terms, please use the contact details published on the official EJMSL website.

17.2. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

17.3. EJMSL may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on the official website with an updated revision date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights already acquired under an existing agreement.

17.5. These Terms do not affect any rights or protections that participants have under applicable consumer law.
