HI KIRILL, WHY DID YOU JOIN EJMSL?
Its a great way to meet new people and to stay in shape. Especially in Verbier, where people come from all different sports backgrounds. Its pretty hard to just organise matches on your own, and EJMSL makes it so much easier to play fun and competitive matches.
WHICH OF THE SPORTS LEAGUES HAVE YOU PLAYED IN? AND WHATS YOUR TOP 3?
Only tennis so far. But i definitely want to squeeze in golf and something else this coming summer. I'd say my top 3 favourites are tennis, golf and badminton.
WHAT'S BEEN YOUR FUNNIEST MOMENT?
I was playing Patrick Ashworth (in the tennis league) and both of us had a bit of a hangover. On this particular day, it just so happened that a band was playing swing music for the full hour, right next to the tennis courts, literally 20 metres or so away. I'm still not sure if Patrick organised it to throw me off my game as he was singing in Russian. I did manage to get the win in the end though.
WHATS BEEN YOUR BEST PERFORMANCE?
It has to be winning in the knockout cup quarter finals against Eric Paternot, who was, at the time, in the division higher than me (7-5, 6-4 win). Then i got my ass kicked in the semi finals.
IF YOU COULD ADD 1 SPORT/EVENT TO EJMSL THAT ISN'T CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, WHAT WOULD IT BE? AND WHY?
As an ice hockey player myself, I would add a mini ice hockey league with teams of 4-5 players playing 3 vs 3, with the finals on Champex Lac.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FUTURE TARGETS OR SOMETHING YOU'D LIKE TO ACHIEVE PLAYING IN THE LEAGUES?
I'd like to Improve a little bit on my tennis. And also score a couple of good rounds of golf.
LASTLY, WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT PLAYING IN THE LEAGUES? AND WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT?
The levels are worked out really well, and the matches are fun and competitive enough, so that it becomes a nice mix. I'd recommend the leagues to anyone who wants to play or try some sports. There is something for everyone, no matter what your level.
