COVID-19

Hi everyone, Elliot here, i am the owner & founder of EJMSL.

I just wanted to say a bit about the current Coronavirus situation, and my advice for our leagues going forward. I myself, am currently based in Verbier, Switzerland, and unfortunately I've had to close down our EJMSL leagues here, as there is literally nowhere open to play Badminton, Darts, Pool, Squash or Tennis. Everything is closed, only supermarkets, and pharmacies etc are still open.

Although I didn't know it at the time, I contracted the virus on the 9th March. The following day I had a fever, but that only lasted 1 day, since then I've had a bit of a cough, and have been feeling very fatigued. About 5 days ago I lost all sense of smell and taste, something I've not experienced before, and it is still ongoing. I know many people who have also had it, with slight variations to the symptoms I have had, it affects people in different ways. I've taken the advice of self isolating and I will continue to do so until at least 48 hours after all symptoms disappear. It hasn't actually been too bad to be honest, I've had colds/flus a lot worse before. However, I am following the advice of the experts, because I'd hate to give it unsuspectingly to any of the elderly or those with underlying health problems in my community. We must look after each other.

With this in mind, if you have any symptoms of a cold, please do not arrange to play any league matches. Also if you live with anyone elderly or with health problems, please don't arrange to play any league matches. If you are completely healthy, meeting up with 1 other person for a game of whatever I think is fine. But I wouldn't be surprised if the UK soon bans all non-essential travel like France, and Switzerland etc. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. In the meantime, look after yourself, your family, friends and those in your community. The virus isn't that bad, so don't be scared, but we must take care to protect the vulnerable in our society. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to ask us.

The current deadline for our spring leagues in Clapham & Medway is May 31st, however this is very likely to be extended. We will of course keep you all updated.

Take care in these strange times, and lets stick together.

Elliot
